COMMUNITY BUILDING: Convoy of HOPE

JOIN the BRIDGE FAMILY and VOLUNTEER WITH US!

Convoy of Hope is a faith-based organization dedicated to helping people in need in the U.S. and throughout the world. On Saturday, April 28, 2018, they will host a Community Event at Meadow Homes Park in Concord, Calif. We will meet at the Bridge at 6AM and head over together. You must pre-register so contact Karol Rodrigues at karol@bridgebayarea.com for the link.

This is a great opportunity for local businesses, community service agencies and other organizations to provide a poverty-free day to families and individuals in need. The goal is to offer more than a million dollars in goods and services — offering assistance designed to establish long-term solutions that can improve the lives of those in our community. Free services include health and dental care evaluations, housing & community services information, job & career services, haircuts, veteran services and family portraits. Additionally, we will provide lunch, a Kids’ Zone and groceries.

We welcome volunteers, service providers and financial support. If you are interested in making a difference in our community, please contact Karol Rodrigues at karol@bridgebayarea.com.

A decade ago, Priscilla Shirer authored Discerning the Voice of God, and since then God has continued to grow, teach, and challenge her in her walk with Him. This revised and expanded edition reflects that growth through new stories, illustrations, exercises, and teaching videos.

Through 7 sessions, discover the root to clear and daily communication with God—humble obedience. Learn how surrender unlocks His many blessings intended for us, centers us in His will, and helps us discern His voice in everyday life.

Benefits:

  • Challenge yourself in the discipline of daily Bible study.
  • Gain practical advice for knowing and understanding God’s voice through His Word.
  • Learn to recognize the Holy Spirit’s character, language, and tone of voice.
  • Experience a deeper relationship with God, and strengthen your daily walk with Him.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 146 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

How to Pack a Shoebox

  • Grab a Shoebox from the foyer this Sunday

We have 100 pre-printed shoboxes to fill.

  • Girl or Boy?

Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14. Grab a label and a box!

  • Fill with Gifts

Select a medium to large “wow” item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.

See Our Gift Suggestions

  • Pray

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.

  • Drop-Off

Bring your shoebox gift to the Bridge Church on or before Sunday, November 19th, 2017. Remember to have a check for $9 for each box.
